Bed very comfortable, liked the wash products available and they seemed to be good quality. Excellent standard of service from all staff from reception, to bar, to dining. A special mention to Faith who walked us from station to hotel as my phone could not get maps up, we asked her directions and she immediately said she’d take us there.

rooms are a bit dated, but still very nice, breakfast was lovely and the facilities are great.

I never imagined a major town in South Wales could be so run down. I checked out of the accomodation a day early and found myself in the High Street around 0830. I had an hour or so here before my train out of town and I saw nothing of interest to a visitor.

First time in Wales for me.
First time in Wales for me. Everywhere we went met with friendly people. Even the girl in Next chatted while serving me and laughed with me about my day.Family meal (14 of us) at TGF. Made welcome and served with a smile all evening.
Coffee shops also had staff interested in our stories.
Pity we live in Perth with 8 hour drive as liked people and places and a return trip maybe when newlyweds have family

The room was good, the pool was out of commission which spoiled the weekend because that made the jacuzzi impossible to gain entrance to due to the amount of people being let down on the pool. Food was perfect.

We walked in to Maindee for a meal on Sat evening, expecting a better selection than we found....but an interesting Caribbean Restaurant ( a bit more like a cafe really) but the food was OK and freshly prepared and the price was reasonable

There is a lot to like about Newport and the surrounding countryside. My favourite feature is without doubt the famous 'Transporter Bridge'. You have the choice of numerous venues for both Rugby and Football matches and a great selection of local Parkruns.
Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. This hotel has a great onsite restaurant, delicious food . It also has a good choice of bar food as well as a great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast.
Nice facilities, and the added extra is you also get to use the facilities in the Celtic Manor
Nice outside space next to the bar area.
Lovely shower and wardrobe space. Room was big with plenty of storage..
The hotel was positioned well for good road links to get around .
It's a workies hotel, grubby and worn, not the best, if you need a cheap room for the night, or maybe just a couple of hours then it is fine. it is literally feet from the M4 so it is handy. Place stinks throughout but the room was fine. Certainly not a place to stay for a holiday. Breakfast is basically cornflakes and stale pastries and you have to wait because the breakfast room doesn't have enough tables.
Firstly, The service was perfect from the receptionist to the waiting staff in the restaurant it was amazing. The room was great and the hotel in general was very quiet and cosy. The food in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was a 9/10. Definitely recommend Mecure Hotel Newport and will definitely be returning sometime in the future.
I believe everything went well for the weekend. The hotel is top class with an excellent location. I was able to attend matches, do running events and enjoy some sightseeing. The food, beverages and service available at the hotel were great. I really enjoyed my stay at the Coldra Court Hotel in Newport, and I do intend to return soon.
Walls had dirty marks, cracks in the bathroom sink the boulder cushion on the bed had a stain, balcony was covered in algae, breakfast was nothing like it was 10yrs ago , was like a premier Inn, standards have definitely gone down here to point we won't ever come back, better valued hotels with a wow factor on the market now ,
The hotel looks quite charming from the outside with the flowers the little chickens running around freely it was quite cute and def had it's charm
breakfast was good as well - good facilities the pool and jacuzzi was great and was really awesome you could take a swim after a very very hot day nothing more refreshing
Hotel was ideally located near newport and cardiff. The hotel was clean and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was good, there was plenty of parking available on site and a pub within walking distance right next door.
Location from the motorway and also access to the major towns in south wales. Rooms were big enough and very clean. Decor in rooms was very dated and in need of redecoration. Public areas in Hotel were very nice, clean and modern.
A really comfortable Double bed, and a nice powerful shower. Hotel ideally situated, only took 5mins in taxi to get to the Masonic Hall. A nice cooked breakfast.
I will be staying again if I need to stay in Newport 👍
The hotel is centrally located, within two or three minutes walking distance of Newport train station. My room was warm, and the bed very comfortable,
The staff could not have been more helpful.
breakfast spot on, always refilled - lots of choice
room was clean and functional - wifi was ace
location really good although newport road layouts are a tad complicated at times
The room was lovely, only negative was the stinky shower curtain. Staff were lovely. Food was delicious. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. I will definitely come back :)
