Archway Motels & Chalets offers quiet and secluded accommodation, only 200 metres from Lake Wanaka. Great location right above the city center, all the restaurants are within walking distance and even one of the wineries (the Maude winery) was right behind the corner, so we paid it a visit. The lady at the reception was very friendly and overall super helpful. The room was very clean, the kitchen well equipped and the A/C was a great addition (apparently you can’t find it in every hotel in NZ). We only stayed for one night, but it would be perfect for a longer vacation. It it also very calm and I can imaging that it’s quite kids friendly.

Sahara Deluxe Studios offers accommodation in Dunedin near Dunedin School of Dentistry and Olveston. The property is close to Toitu Otago Settlers Museum, The Octagon and Dunedin Railway Station. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodation was well located about 15min walk from the Octagon or the stadium. Room was comfortable and warm with great selection of Sports options on the TV channels and wifi included.

Jafa's Motels is set in Lawrence and features a garden and barbecue facilities. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Lovely setting, so close all the town’s amenities, yet so quiet and private. The rooms are very spacious, and it was a delight to sit outside on the terrace and enjoy my evening meal.

Roxburgh Clutha Gold TOP 10 Holiday Park has free bikes, seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden and shared lounge in Roxburgh. A great place form which to ride the Clutha Gold Trail, just 2 K out of Roxburgh. The cottage had everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Opened in January 2017, the adults only Cromwell Escape is located 3.7 km from Central Otago District Council in Cromwell and only 100 meters from the new Lake Dunstan cycle trail. A really nice and comfortable place with a beautiful view and very friendly and helpful owners.

Located in Cromwell, 200 metres from Central Otago District Council, Colonial Manor Motel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and barbecue facilities. Everything was perfect from the staff, facility to location. Best hotel stay so far on this trip!

Located in Ranfurly, Ranfurly Motels features a garden and BBQ facilities. There is a children's playground and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. A lovely little motel in a quiet cul-de-sac, conveniently located for exploring the rail trail. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and nicely heated. The staff are friendly and considerate. I warmly recommend a stay!

Catlins Area Motel features a garden and barbecue facilities in Owaka. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. This is the best motel I have stayed so far. The unit was new and super clean, fully equipped kitchen, they pay attention to many details and overall it’s just cosy. The manager through the phone was very friendly, the heater was on when we arrived late:) super affectionate cat accompanied us during the morning and amazing red sky during sunrise. Overall very peaceful and calm place:)
